Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering & Customization
Can I customize the size of a table?
Yes. Every table can be built to fit your space. If you need specific dimensions, I can build the piece to your exact length, width, and height.
Do you offer fully custom designs?
Yes. If you have a design idea or inspiration photo, I can work with you to create a one-of-a-kind piece tailored to your space.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before reaching out?
Not at all. Many customers start with a general idea or inspiration photo. If you know the approximate size or style you like, that’s enough to begin the conversation.
How do I start a custom order?
The easiest way is through the Custom Table Request form on the website. Include any details you have such as size, wood preference, style, or inspiration images.
Materials & Craftsmanship
What types of wood do you use?
I primarily work with solid hardwoods such as walnut, white oak, maple, and cherry. Each species has its own natural grain, color, and character.
Are your tables solid wood?
Yes. All pieces are built using solid hardwood and quality joinery designed for strength and longevity.
Where are your tables made?
Every piece is handcrafted in my Chicago workshop using carefully selected materials and traditional woodworking techniques.
Lead Time & Delivery
How long does it take to build a table?
Most pieces are completed within 8-10 weeks, depending on the design and current build schedule.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes. Local delivery is available in the Chicago area. Larger pieces can be delivered and set up to ensure they arrive safely.
Pricing & Payment
How much do custom tables cost?
Pricing varies depending on size, wood species, and design details. Most custom dining tables typically start around $1,800–$3,000+.
Do you require a deposit for custom pieces?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to begin production and secure your place in the build schedule. The remaining balance is due when your piece is completed and ready for delivery or pickup.
Buying a Solid Wood Table
What is the best wood for a dining table?
Popular hardwoods for dining tables include walnut, white oak, maple, and cherry. White oak and walnut are especially popular because of their durability and beautiful grain patterns.
How long do solid wood tables last?
A well-built solid wood table can last for decades or even generations. Unlike mass-produced furniture, solid wood can also be refinished over time.
